Ulf Evert holds a degree in biology and has been working as a research assistant at the Key Skills Centre at Kiel University since 2015. He is active in teaching and offers courses on the topics of presenting, storytelling and science communication. Together with the directors of the ZfS and the Graduate Center he developed the certificate programme Science Communication, in which students and doctoral researchers learn, among other things, how to communicate their own scientific topics in a generally understandable way. Since November 2020, he has also been the coordinator of the interdisciplinary qualification programme Science Dialog.

Ulf Evert was already active in science communication in his freelance work from 2011 to 2015. During this time, for example, he managed travelling exhibitions, in particular MeerErleben – an exhibition about seas and oceans conceived by MARUM Bremen, as well as exhibitions with physical topics. Among other things Ulf Evert guided groups from kindergarten to adults through the exhibitions.

Ulf Evert, who is also called “Mr. Science”, has organised the Science Show together with Katharine Simmons since 2011.
